We don’t take any shortcuts, either in the materials or in the love and craftsmanship we put into each and every canvas that we produce. Here are some of the things to look out for when buying a canvas: |

Solid Wood Framing |

Thick Structure |

To save money, competitors often use cheap alternatives to solid wood stretcher bars such as particle board which is engineered wood manufactured from wood chips and sawdust, or high-density fiberboard which is also an engineered wood product that essentially feels like cardboard. Another way competitors cut framing costs is by using solid wood that is very thin or starts thick but curves in to be thin. |

Clean Cut Backside |
Stretched to Create Neat Sides |

Hand Stretched |
|
Traditional gallery wrap canvases are hand stretched over wooden stretcher bars and secured to the back of the frame. Quality stretching involves the canvas image being tightly wrapped around the frame with the corners cut and folded to produce neat and clean corners and back-sides. Competitors who do not take the extra care during the canvas stretching process can produce a loose wrap that distorts the image or have messy folds, corners, and loose ends. |

In order to get the print just the right color, monitors and printers should be color calibrated often. Also, it is important to use high quality, OEM pigment inks on thick that will resist fading and thick, archival grade, poly-cotton blend canvases that are pH neutral, acid free, and will not color or yellow over time. Competitors who take the shortcut of not calibrating printers or use cheap, knock-off inks may produce prints that do not look like the original image. |
